Saudi Arabia Moves Jazan Schools Online As Heavy Rain And Hail Are Forecast

Jazan schools have moved to remote learning through Madrasati as severe weather affects parts of Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has moved schools in Jazan to remote learning as heavy rain and hail are forecast across five regions of the Kingdom.

The General Administration of Education in Jazan announced that all schools across the region and its governorates would shift from in-person classes to the Madrasati platform.

The decision follows weather warnings from Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for Meteorology and aims to protect students, teachers and administrative staff during potentially hazardous conditions.

Students have been asked to attend their lessons remotely according to their normal approved school schedules.

Jazan Schools Move To Remote Learning

The move to remote learning applies to schools across Jazan and its governorates.

The education authority said the decision would allow learning to continue while reducing the need for students and staff to travel during severe weather.

Students should therefore access their lessons through Madrasati and follow their usual timetables.

For parents, this means children should remain at home and prepare to join lessons online at their scheduled times.

The arrangement also allows schools to maintain teaching and learning while responding to the weather conditions.

Heavy Rain And Hail Forecast Across Saudi Arabia

The National Centre for Meteorology has forecast moderate to heavy rain and hail in parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Makkah and Madinah.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Tabuk, Al-Jouf, Hail, Qassim, the Northern Borders and Eastern regions.

Some areas could also experience winds strong enough to stir up dust. Najran Region is among the areas where these conditions are expected.

Additionally, fog could develop along parts of the coastal areas of the Eastern and Makkah regions.

These conditions may affect travel and visibility, making remote learning an important precaution for schools in affected areas.

Weather Conditions Could Also Affect Coastal Travel

The weather warnings extend beyond schools and roads.

In the Red Sea, winds could reach 50kmph in some areas, while waves may rise above two metres. Conditions are expected to range from calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds could reach up to 38kmph, with waves between half a metre and one metre.

Parents and school communities in affected regions should continue to monitor official weather and education authority updates as conditions develop.

What Jazan Families Need To Know

For families in Jazan, the immediate priority is to ensure students can access Madrasati and attend their normal lessons online.

Parents may also wish to check that children have a suitable place to study and that their devices and internet connections are ready before lessons begin.

Schools and education authorities may provide further updates if weather conditions change.

For now, the shift to remote learning allows students to continue their education while limiting unnecessary travel during periods of severe weather.
