More than 6.5 million male and female students in public schools across Saudi Arabia returned to classrooms on Tuesday following the Eid Al Adha holiday. The return marks the final academic stretch before second semester examinations begin across the Kingdom.

Schools Prepare for Final Examinations

Schools have started preparations for the second semester final examinations, which will mark the end of the current academic year. Final exams across all educational departments in Saudi Arabia, except the regions of Makkah and Madinah, are scheduled to begin on Sunday, Dhul Hijjah 28, corresponding to June 14. The countdown has effectively begun, with students having less than two weeks to complete revisions and final coursework before examinations commence.

Different Exam Dates for Western Regions

Schools in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif will begin final examinations later than other regions. The exams in these cities are scheduled to start on Muharram 6, 1448 AH, corresponding to June 21. The staggered schedule reflects regional academic planning arrangements introduced by the education authorities.

Summer Holidays to Begin in June and July

The summer vacation for schools under the education departments of Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif will begin at the end of the school day on Muharram 17, corresponding to July 2. Meanwhile, schools across all other regions in the Kingdom will begin summer holidays earlier, at the end of the school day on Muharram 10, corresponding to June 25. The conclusion of examinations will officially bring the 2025 to 2026 academic year to a close for millions of students across Saudi Arabia.
