TVTC to Privatise Six Technical Colleges

by Eddie Rayner

Six international technical colleges are to be privatised by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). The objective is to attain the fundamental tenets of education by improving quality and providing a variety of educational and training alternatives and services to all regions of the Kingdom. It will also improve financial and operational efficiency through collaboration with the private sector.

TVTC has focused its efforts on three pivotal points: efficient spending, investment, and privatisation. This will help to achieve sustainable financing and effective spending for qualitative training in line with massive state projects and labour market requirements.

The corporation’s function will be represented in transferring college operations to the private sector. In addition, it will also ensure training facilities are available, while evaluating and safeguarding training quality and accrediting specialisations, academic faculty and certificates.

The private sector will conduct constant upgrading of technical specialisations based on labour market needs, developing training content and state-of-the-art educational technologies, alongside the development of laboratories and the financing of capital projects.
