The Ministry of Health has announced the completion of its nationwide school health programme, which provided medical fitness assessments and vaccinations for more than 355,000 students across the Kingdom at the start of the new academic year.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen school health services and ensure safe learning environments for all students.
Comprehensive Health Assessments
The checks included physical fitness evaluations, early detection of health issues, and verification of essential immunisations under the national vaccination programme.
Through these measures, the ministry aims to prevent communicable diseases, promote student well-being, and raise awareness of healthy practices among families and the wider education community.
Collaboration with the Ministry of Education
The ministry highlighted that the initiative is a key component of its broader public health strategy, noting that ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Education was vital in successfully implementing the programme and delivering services to students in both public and private schools.
Promoting Health and Well-being in Line with Vision 2030
Health experts emphasised that this achievement reflects the effective integration of the health and education sectors in the Kingdom, underscoring the government’s commitment to providing safe, supportive learning environments that foster the well-being and healthy development of students, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.
