The Ministry of Education is set to launch a new appointment booking system through the Madrasati platform, which will regulate parents’ visits to public schools. The initiative aims to maintain a secure and organised learning environment while enabling parents and guardians to coordinate their meetings with school staff efficiently.
Purpose of the System
The new appointment system aims to keep visits organised, safe and limited to valid reasons only. Through the feature, parents will be able to book visits to both boys’ and girls’ sections of public schools, ensuring that every visit is scheduled, documented and approved in advance.
The ministry confirmed that parents who wish to visit public schools must schedule their visit via the platform to support safety measures across all campuses.
How the Appointment System Works
Once parents book an appointment, they will receive a notification confirming their visit. The system will also monitor entry and exit times to enhance security. Only visits with a clear and genuine purpose will be approved, and parents must specify the reason for the visit and the school official they intend to meet, whether that is the principal, vice principal or student counsellor.
One Visit Per Week Rule
According to the ministry’s service guide, appointments can be booked any day of the week. However, each parent is limited to one visit per week. Parents can choose either an in-person meeting or a remote meeting. Booking one type will automatically cancel the other to avoid double scheduling.
The ministry states that this system will make school visits smoother, safer and more efficient, ensuring that meetings serve their intended purpose.
Streamlining School Visits for Parents
The service will apply to both boys’ and girls’ sections in public schools. Its primary aim is to regulate when and how parents enter school premises. By documenting each visit, the system ensures that only those with a legitimate purpose are granted access.
Parents will receive confirmation once their appointment is approved. The system will handle their entry and exit to reduce congestion and maintain an orderly flow within school buildings.
Key Features of the Appointment Service
The Ministry has outlined several important guidelines:
- Weekly Availability: Appointments are available throughout the week.
- Visit Limit: One visit per parent per week.
- Purpose Requirement: Parents must specify the reason for the visit to ensure only genuine requests are accommodated.
- Role Linking: The visit must be linked to the appropriate staff member, such as the principal, deputy principal or student counsellor.
- Visit Type: Visits may be in-person or remote, with one option cancelling the other automatically.
Benefits for Schools and Parents
The system is designed to:
- Provide a safe and structured learning environment by limiting unscheduled visits.
- Improve the quality and organisation of interactions between parents and school staff.
- Ensure that school time and resources are used effectively by reducing unnecessary interruptions.
- Document all visits to improve tracking, accountability and communication
Implementation and Access
Parents will access the service directly through the Madrasati platform, ensuring a centralised and easy-to-use process. By stating the purpose of their visit clearly and coordinating with the correct school officials, parents can expect a streamlined experience, whether attending in person or remotely.
