The decision was issued under Council of Ministers Resolution No. 588 and published in the Official Gazette (Umm Al-Qura) on 15 / 8 / 1447 AH, corresponding to approximately 13 February 2026 (Gregorian).
Key Provisions
The policy establishes Arabic as the official language of the Kingdom. All public entities are required to use Arabic in their official work, while allowing the use of another language when necessary.
The policy also promotes the use of Arabic in the private and non-profit sectors. This includes contracts and invoices, commercial and advertising signage, conferences and events, official certificates, and written and electronic correspondence.
Furthermore, the policy encourages the use of Arabic in education, scientific research, and media. It supports the production and dissemination of Arabic content in these fields to ensure widespread institutional use.
