Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University has made a significant leap in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, moving more than 250 places from the 601–800 range to 401–500. The advancement highlights the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic standards, research capacity, and global reputation.

The announcement was made during the THE World Academic Summit, hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Focus on Academic Excellence and Research Development

The improvement has been attributed to the university’s strategy of attracting highly qualified faculty members, expanding research facilities, and introducing quality-driven initiatives aimed at fostering academic excellence.

Locally, the university ranked fifth among Saudi institutions, further reinforcing its growing role as a centre for higher education and innovation.

Commitment to Vision 2030 Goals

Meshari Al-Osaimi, Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs, said:

“The progress reflects our investments in academic talent and research facilities, along with initiatives that have enhanced the university’s reputation. Nationally, the university ranked fifth among Saudi universities, underscoring its role as a leading educational and research institution,”

He added that the achievement reflects the university’s commitment to quality education, research, and innovation, aligning with Vision 2030’s objective of enhancing higher education and global competitiveness.
