OWIS Al Jazeera, the newest campus of One World International School in Riyadh, is introducing a play-based Early Years programme designed for children aged 3 to 6. The curriculum blends global best practice with alignment to the Saudi Ministry of Education, creating a learning experience that is both international in approach and locally rooted in values and language.

A Foundation Built on Early Childhood Development

The Kindergarten programme focuses on the formative stages of cognitive, emotional and social development. Learning is structured to support how young children naturally explore the world, with emphasis on curiosity, communication and confidence.

The approach prioritises interaction, guided play and inquiry-based learning, ensuring that children are supported as active participants in their learning journey rather than passive recipients of instruction.

A Curriculum Designed Around the Whole Child

The Early Years curriculum is organised into seven key areas of learning, each contributing to a balanced educational foundation.

Values and well-being are central to daily life in the classroom, helping children develop emotional awareness, belonging and respect within their school community.

English literacy is embedded across daily activities, supported by structured phonics to build early reading and communication skills.

Arabic and Islamic Studies follow a Ministry of Education-aligned framework, with integrated learning that helps children understand both languages as complementary. Additional support is provided for non-native Arabic speakers to ensure inclusive learning progress.

Mathematics is introduced through practical, everyday experiences such as games and shared activities, helping children develop early numerical understanding in a natural context.

Science and computing encourage exploration through hands-on discovery, introducing early STEM thinking while maintaining the importance of play and imagination.

Creative expression through art, music, drama and movement allows children to develop communication skills in multiple forms.

Physical education focuses on movement, coordination and teamwork, supporting both physical development and social skills.

A Balance of International Learning and Local Identity

The programme is intentionally designed to combine international teaching methods with Saudi cultural values. This ensures children experience a sense of identity and belonging while also being exposed to global learning standards.

The school is part of Global Schools Group, a Singapore-headquartered education network with campuses worldwide, known for its focus on academic excellence and student wellbeing.

Admissions and Campus Experience

OWIS Al Jazeera is now accepting applications from KG 1 to Grade 5 for the academic year 2026 to 2027. Families are encouraged to visit the campus, meet the leadership team and explore the Early Years environment first-hand.
