A Delegation from the Ministry of Education Visit Singapore

An official delegation from the Ministry of Education headed by the Deputy Minister for General Education, Dr Ohoud Al-fares, visited the Republic of Singapore to discuss opportunities to strengthen cooperative partnerships and exchange experiences in the field of education.

The delegation received the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the Republic of Singapore, Mr Abdullah Al-Mady. at the headquarters of the Saudi Embassy. They met with the Singaporean Minister of Education, Mr Chan Chun Seng, as part of the delegation’s official program.

The visit looked at the Singaporean education system at various levels and discussed joint cooperation opportunities, including those in university and special education.

During its field visits to more than 14 educational institutions, the delegation was briefed on the institutional operational models in the educational sector in Singapore. The visit included observation of children’s education programs with regard to achieving childhood enrolment rates of 90% in Saudi Arabia by 2030.

As well as programs and initiatives to educate and nurture the gifted in sports, arts and sciences, the delegation also visited the National Institute of Education, which specializes in training and developing teachers.
