A graduation ceremony for Saudi students from Boston universities was held at Harvard University on Saturday. The event was presided over by Cultural Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in the US, Acting Attaché in Canada and Supervisor for South American Countries Tahany Aleisa. The ceremony was attended by students, their families, and members of the academic community.

Graduates from Leading Universities

Speaking on the occasion, Aleisa said the ceremony celebrated 70 male and female graduates from several prestigious institutions. Harvard University recorded the highest number of graduates with 29 students, followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with nine graduates, Boston University with 19, and Tufts University with 10. Graduates from the University of Massachusetts Boston and Johnson & Wales University also took part in the ceremony.

Academic Fields Supporting Vision 2030

The graduates specialised in fields aligned with national development goals and Saudi Vision 2030, Aleisa said. These fields include medicine, public health, dentistry, medical subspecialties, engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, business administration, public policy, law, finance, and supply chains.

Investment in Human Capital

Aleisa emphasised that the excellence of Saudi students at American universities reflects the Kingdom’s investment in human capital and efforts to prepare qualified national talent to contribute to the country’s future. She also highlighted the strong support and attention given by the Kingdom’s leadership to the education and scholarship sector.

Scholarship Programme Supports Global Competitiveness

Aleisa said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Programme, under its new strategy launched by Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Human Capability Development Programme Committee Prince Mohammed bin Salman, represents a qualitative shift in enhancing the global competitiveness of Saudi citizens.

She added that the programme also aligns academic specialisations with evolving labour market needs and the promising sectors of Saudi Vision 2030.
