More than 6.5 million school students across all levels of general education in Saudi Arabia returned to classrooms as the second semester of the current academic year commenced on Sunday, following the 16 day Eid Al Fitr holidays.
Focus on Discipline and Attendance
The Ministry of Education stressed the importance of maintaining discipline and punctuality among teaching staff, administrative teams, and students from the very first day of the second semester. Ministry said,
“Absences will be monitored through the Noor electronic system, and parents will be notified of the absences through approved communication channels.”
Schools across the Kingdom have resumed structured learning, with a clear emphasis on attendance and engagement to ensure continuity in education.
Academic Calendar and Upcoming Holidays
According to the official academic calendar, the Eid Al Adha holiday is scheduled to begin at the end of the school day on Dhul Hijjah 5 and will last for ten days.
The return to classrooms marks a key phase in the academic year, as students and educators prepare for the remainder of the term leading up to the next holiday period.
Nationwide Return to Classrooms
The large scale return reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining regular academic schedules while reinforcing the importance of consistency in student learning.
With millions of students back in school, education authorities continue to prioritise structured learning environments and effective communication with families.
