The Saudi Council of Universities Affairs has decided to allow admission to government secondary school graduates in universities across all regions of Saudi Arabia beginning with the next academic year. The council stated that the requirement to limit admission to students from the administrative region with which the institution is linked will no longer apply.

The council’s resolution intends to allow male and female students to find academic routes that are right for them, as well as to give possibilities for fair competition for university seats in all government universities across the Kingdom.
This decision is part of a system of amended decisions and regulations that the council is working to approve in conjunction with universities, to meet the aims of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Human Capacity Development Programme.
