by Belinda Breeze

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) and ilmi Science, Discovery & Innovation Centre have announced a new series of Museum Studies courses. These programmes offer educational opportunities to a broad spectrum of students, from recent high school graduates to seasoned professionals, to develop a new generation of museum professionals in Saudi Arabia.

Micro-credentials, a diploma, minors, and open-access elective courses are all part of the extensive programme, which makes learning accessible to a wide audience by combining online and in-person instruction and offering courses in both Arabic and English.

The programme is available to anyone over the age of 18

The programme is available to anyone over the age of 18, beginning with micro-credential courses like Museum Impact Studies and Museum Education and Awareness. Additional options for PNU students include an elective on Introduction to Museums and minors in Digital Technology and Museums. Starting in September 2024, PNU students as well as recent high school graduates can pursue a two-year diploma in Museum Management.

Registration for the micro-credential course in Fundamentals of Museum Management, starting this April, is currently open.

This initiative not only aims to enhance museum-related skills but also opens pathways to careers in museum management and educational roles within the sector.
