Education advisor Abdulatif Al Hamadi has announced: “The Ministry of Education is about to train 8,000 female teachers in music and the arts,” with lessons being offered to kindergarteners and first-graders as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing educational evolution.

One of the primary goals is to find and cultivate young Saudi talent in order to increase competition in the cultural and educational sectors. Abdulatif said that theaters would be activated at both public and private schools.

He added that the constant improvement in the education sector now also sees Arabic studies at the elementary school level held five days a week rather than four, with math and English classes more frequent too. Moreover, the Holy Quran and Islamic studies were merged into a single curriculum.

“The ministry at present focuses on essential subjects to boost students’ basic skills as well as requirements of the era, such as adding a subject of digital skills from the fourth to the sixth grades so that students will learn a lot of basics and principles of cyber security. The development process, witnessed by educational stages, keeps pace with global development.

“As of the new school year, new subjects, such as earth sciences, space, and event management, will be introduced in the secondary school stage.”
