The MBC Loud launch party on Boulevard Riyadh featured pyrotechnics, live music and dancers, and was attended by a slew of celebrities and influencers. MBC CEO Sam Barnett said: “It’s young, it’s vibrant, it’s exciting, it’s active, and I think it’s a chance for people to hear that fresh look on life in Saudi.”
MBC’s launch of the station represents a fresh determination to cater to the Kingdom’s enormous demographic of young people as well as its rising expatriate presence.
“We’ve got lots of young Saudis speaking English. We’ve also got lots of ex-pats coming in who are all working in new jobs and new sectors with new colleagues, and this is our take on life for the new phase of Saudi,” Barnett explained.
