Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan honoured the PNU, the world’s largest university for women, as one of the distinguished Saudi universities in the field of social responsibility for the year 2025.

The ceremony was attended by PNU Acting President Dr. Fawzia bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, university presidents, and representatives from the education, training, and non profit sectors, and was held at the ministry of education headquarters, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Celebrating Impact and Contribution

The honour was bestowed in recognition of the university’s efforts, represented by its agencies, deanships, colleges, centres, and departments, and their outstanding contributions to social responsibility.

The ceremony was held to celebrate Saudi Social Responsibility Day.

In 2025, the university recorded significant academic and community engagement, including the completion of approximately 59 responsible research projects, the implementation of about 691 responsible projects, and the development of more than 170 responsible courses.

In addition, more than 190 events and initiatives contributed to the enhancement of the university’s presence and its societal impact.

Expanding Training and Community Engagement

On the training and development front, the university offered about 496 training activities, while its social responsibility and sustainability units provided about 750 programmes targeting faculty, administrative staff, students, and various community groups.

Munira Najman, director of social responsibility and partnerships at the general directorate of corporate communication at PNU, explained that this distinction reflects the university’s adoption of social responsibility as a sustainable institutional approach that contributes to maximising its educational and societal impact and supports the achievement of sustainable development goals.
